It’s Not Your Content…It’s Your Technique

Look…I will NEVER review a podcaster’s content. Or actually, if it’s something I’m interested in, I might mention it in my review, but outside of that, I try to stay away from grading content. Why? Because I believe creativity and talent can’t really be judged. The internet has proven that “good” content is extremely subjective. Hell…TV has been proving it for years. It’s the reason why something like The Walking Dead is still disliked by millions upon millions of people despite being a number one show. Think about that…

In other words, what you talk about on your show and how you talk about it is between you and your listeners. What I do for you is help your technique. That’s why I focus on things like identifying yourself by name or how clearly I can hear what you’re saying. I reviewed the ‘At Home With’ podcast by Lily and Anna. They talked about home decor, purses and other shiz I’m nowhere near into. Yet, this was Lily’s response to my review:

Her retweet confirmed, to me, that I’d thoughtfully reviewed her episode…WITHOUT being a fan of the episode’s content.

Why This Is Important

Let’s say you have a podcast that covers wild animals in Africa, but with bad audio. A listener might get impatient and seek out your competition. You don’t want that. However, if you and your competition have all your ducks in a row, then the only thing left to fight with is your content (and marketing (whole ‘nother discussion)). In other words, I’m helping you level the playing field.

You can’t play pool with a broken stick.

Do You Have a Podcast?

If you have a podcast that’s still early in the early stages (roughly 5 or less episodes) and you’d like an in-depth review, shoot me a tweet and I’ll give it a review.

Or, if you’re getting ready to launch soon, take a look at the reviews or reach out for any help.
